Solar Eclipse in Cancer
The first new moon of the Summer season will be on July 1st and falls under the astrological sign of Cancer. The new moon will occur in conjunction with a partial Solar Eclipse.
An eclipse is a potent astrological event that can initiate change or transformation in our lives and circumstances. A Solar Eclipse serves to bring the future into the present and signifies new beginnings. As such, a Solar Eclipse is a new moon with tremendous impact; it has the capacity to trigger and seed new these new potentials.
A Birthday New Moon
Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and is a Cardinal, Water sign. Cancer specializes in the art of Intuition, and the energetic theme for the month of July is Passion.
This moon is of particular significance to me– because July 1st also happens to be my birthday!
Following my Passion
This year I will be celebrating my birthday by immersing myself in my ‘water element’ and by expressing my passion for whales. I’ll be in Australia with my husband, on a live-aboard dive boat on the Great Barrier Reef in the company of dwarf minke whales.
Dwarf Minke whales are members of the baleen whale family and are the smallest of the “great whales” or rorquals. During the months of June & July, these small whales migrate to the offshore northern waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Swimmers and divers have been experiencing in-water encounters with some of the more inquisitive dwarf minke whales for the past 20 years.
I had an absolutely spectacular encounter with a stunningly beautiful dwarf minke whale while on a diving trip on the the Barrier Reef in 2003. It was one of the most memorable, fun, intimate, and magical cetacean connections I have ever experienced. I have been meaning to return to Australia to visit the minkes ever since that blessed encounter. I can’t wait to see my extended-cetacean family in Australia!
Sharing My Passion for Manifesting
July is a powerful time of manifestation for me, which will be amplified this year by the Solar Eclipse, the immersion within my Water Element, and the close proximity of my minke-whale family. I’d like to share my passionate whale-energy and Cancer-infused manifestation magic with you!
To engage these creative forces in support of your dreams, I will be conducting a Remote Manifestation Workshop during this potent new moon phase. During the last week of June, I will be collecting the intentions of participants who wish to take part in the workshop.
On the night of Monday, July 4th, I will perform a Manifestation Ceremony on board the boat on the Great Barrier Reef, under the stars. I invite you to launch and/or reinforce your dreams and goals during this ceremony in alignment with the energies of the summer season and the initiating power of the solar eclipse.
