Hawaiian Dolphins, Whales, & Energy Vortexes

AAAWelcome Home

I arrived in Hawaii on Thursday afternoon, still wound up from the past few hectic and challenging weeks. I took my time driving south to my friend’s house on the Big Island, and was happy & relieved to arrive!

The next morning, I headed to my favorite beach to see if my dolphin family would be swimming in the bay. It was extremely quiet, and residents reported that dolphins had been scarce over the past weeks. It is not uncommon for the southern pods to stay well offshore during humpback whale season.

I went for a nice long swim, and reconnected with the ocean-based resonance of Hawaii. I swam north to the next bay, to find a lovely snorkeling area which I’d never visited before. There were schools of familiar Hawaiian fishes, and I thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely swim.

Hitching a ride up the Coast

Celeste & I woke up (really) early on Saturday morning to join Captain Veto and Mermaid Dana on the Lilikoi Dawn. The Northern pods had been plentiful & active during the past few days, so we were hoping for a great dolphin-filled adventure. We ventured up the coast as an orange-red sun crested over the ridge of Mauna Loa. The Kilauea volcano has been spewing emissions for the past couple of years, and when the winds blow towards the NW, Kona becomes clouded with volcanic smog or ‘vog’.

There were no dolphins in sight, but we observed a few whale spouts along the way and drove over for a closer look. We approached a momma, baby, & escort trio who had been lolling fairly close to shore. They disappeared underwater for a few minutes, then suddenly the male surfaced quite close to the boat with a loud chuffing sound. He dropped underwater, then flopped a distinctive tail lob in our direction. We got the message… we’d gotten too close to his ‘girl’ and the baby for his comfort!

Captain Veto turned the boat in a wide arc to head back south, and we slowly motored while scanning the horizon for dorsal fins. Within five minutes, we spotted a humongous pod of dolphins spread over a half mile across the surface. They were swimming to shore in slow motion.

In the water with Friends

Once the dolphins neared the coastline, they picked up speed & headed south. Capt Veto got the boat slightly ahead of them to put us into the water. We swam south, parallel to the coast, and watched as clusters of dolphins (from sets of two to podlets of 40+ dolphins) sped by us. I was able to make heart & eye contact with dozens of dolphins including many groups of moms & babies. It took about 15 minutes for the entirety of the pod to swim past.

Round Two

We climbed back aboard the Lilikoi Dawn and motored at high speed to catch up with the pod. Some of the more opportunistic dolphins caught a free ride by surfing our wake as we hurried to move in front of the group. When we were 50 yards from the leaders of the pod-pack, we slipped back in the water for another visitation.

I could easily hear the squeaking, clicking, & squawking dolphins before seeing the pod, and I dove down to see if I could catch a glimpse of them from an underwater perspective. I couldn’t see any dolphins… but I was enveloped by the sounds of singing whales. We were only in 20 – 30 ft of water, so the whale songs loudly reverberated off the reef & sandy bottom.

Moments later, members of the pod came into view. This time they hugged the shoreline, swimming along the shallowest parts of the reef. I tucked in to swim alongside as waves & waves of dolphins just kept gliding past, passing under & around me and sounding noisily as they flew south.

The dolphins were packed in tight formations with very little space between them. I watched as a group of 35 dolphins swam against the backdrop of the reef in no more than 12 feet of water. It was amazing that they were able to fit themselves in such a small space!

I didn’t move fast… but just allowed the momentum of the endless groups of dolphins to carry me along in their energy field. There were so many that I lost count, but a conservative guesstimate would be 400 dolphins. Every time I thought the last of them had swam past, another pod-let would appear out of nowhere.

The energy was intense, and the dolphins were beautiful!!! When Celeste & I swam back to the boat we were reprimanded for getting too far from the boat– but neither of us had felt like we swam far at all. We were swept into the flow of the traveling pod!

The third time’s the charm!

We were hoping that the Podzilla would slow and settle into a bay, so we headed further south and tucked in to Naia Bay. Lucky for us, the dolphins put on their brakes, and began to circle the large bay.

We entered the water and were blasted by an intense volume of noisy, active dolphins. We didn’t see them at first, but the noise so loud it was hard to believe they weren’t right next to us!

I swam towards the shoreline, and suddenly saw 50 or more dolphins charging towards me… from under the water and from all sides. They danced & swirled and swam in frenetic circles under & around me. They zipped in & out of sight, and I was able to join single and small groups of dolphins in joyful play!

The pod was spread all over the bay– I could see Celeste swimming among her own group of cetacean friends. Neither she nor I had ever been in the water with so many loudly sounding and wildly swimming dolphins. The vibratory frequency was incredibly high, and we absorbed as much resonance as our bodies could tolerate.

We laughed & twirled and blended with the huge, energetic pod. Veto called us out of the water when a flotilla of dolphin-boats arrived at the bay to join the party. We’d had an exhilarating, fulfilling experience, and were buzzing when we climbed out of the water!

Whale Watching

We spent the rest of the day cruising for whales, and were entertained by a duo of adult humpbacks who were accompanied by an extremely large bottlenose dolphin! Soon afterwards, we headed home, feeling blessed with our cetacean adventures on the Northern Coast!

Into the Attunement Chamber

When I got back to the house, I felt compelled to ground the dolphin energies of the day by doing a meditation under the Attunement Chamber at Celeste’s house. The chamber consists of metal pipes constructed to form a pyramid structure with crystals at the apex and the corners.

I had no prior knowledge of what it was– nor what to expect, but I felt drawn to enter the pyramid to meditate with an open mind. I sat directly under the crystals at the apex and settled in for whatever was to come.

Visions, Sounds, & Movement in the Chamber

I was unprepared for what happened next! As I completed my baseline meditation, a crystalline structure formed in my mind’s eye. It was gold & silver, multifaceted, and pulsing with energy. I vaguely recognized it as a 3 dimensional sacred geometry shape, and I instinctively invited it to enter my energy field and integrate into my primary chakras.

While the integration was occurring, I heard the sounds of dolphins amplified in my ‘inner’ ears, and felt a wave of energy flash through me. Seconds later my body began to slowly move back & forth, as thought I was sitting on a rocking boat. My hips and legs remained stationery on the seat, but my upper body swayed as if guided by an outside force.

Soon the rocking shifted into a rotational movement. I spontaneously started moving in a counterclockwise direction. It was as though someone was holding my shoulders and moving me in that direction, first in small circles, then in bigger ones… in a regular rhythm. I lost track of time and am not sure how long this went on, maybe 10 minutes? I was being ‘swirled’ with spiraling energy; my body was literally ‘taken over’ and manipulated by the energies flowing into me as I sat under the crystals in the chamber.

Eventually the swirling energy slowed and subsided, and my body was definitively rocked from side to side. Then, all movement stopped. After several seconds I slowly started rotating in the other direction. I was spiraled in a clockwise direction for another 10 minutes or so.

And then it Ended

As rapidly as it had started, the movement just stopped! I instinctively knew that my session in the chamber had completed, so I climbed out. I felt strangely energized, and noticed that the vague physical aches & pains in my body had subsided. Also, I felt as though my 3rd eye had been expanded.

This was an indescribable experience.  I felt as though my energy system had been re-wired. Hawaii is truly an energy vortex and a place of miracles!!!
