SUSAN'S STORY
Susan Bird is a Personal Empowerment Specialist and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She holds a BA degree from Stanford University and has offered services in Energy Alignment, Hypnosis, and Manifestation guidance for over three decades. Her practice has evolved from in-person consultation to virtual sessions for clients all over the world.
As an intuitive healer, Susan works to clarify and align each client’s etheric body to help them realize their life purpose and actualize their goals. Her healing process is intensive, collaborative, and infused with gentle humor. She actively incorporates the wisdom, experience, and uniqueness of each individual to cultivate their highest potential.
As her website implies, Susan integrates the energy of wild cetaceans in her practice, acting as a bridge to bring their transformative frequencies into the lives of her clients. Each year, she spends several months swimming with wild dolphins and whales in oceans around the world. She captures photos and video imagery to share the essence of these experiences with the public.
Susan has spent countless hours underwater as a Technical Diver and former Scuba Instructor. She gained international recognition as a lead diver on the Hoyo Negro Exploration Team, a small group of dedicated divers working to document a world famous archeological site in an underwater cave in the Yucatan Peninsula.
An accomplished athlete, Susan held numerous National Records during a competitive swimming career in her youth. As an adult, she earned a 2nd degree black belt in Shorinryu Karate. She currently exercises regularly and maintains a high level of fitness. This dedication to optimal health elevates her vibrancy, enhances her capacity as a healer, and supports her adventurous lifestyle.
She lives with her beloved dog Kaialani on the central coast of California. They can often be found walking the beaches of Monterey and Carmel, in close proximity to dolphins and whales. Susan continues to envision and manifest her own dreams in a myriad of ways, every day. In doing so, she lives in a perpetual state of joy, gratitude, and contentment.
DIVING DEEPER…
Susan came into this life as a dynamic Water Spirit with a natural talent for healing. During childhood her free time was spent in the family’s swimming pool, in the ocean, or at swim practice. Throughout a 13-year swimming career, she broke dozens of national records and retired after gaining All-American status at Stanford University.
Her work as a healer started in her early teens while teaching swim lessons in her family pool. Many of her students were ‘drop-outs’ from traditional swim schools who were challenged by an overwhelming fear of water. Susan’s calm demeanor, quiet confidence, and intuitive understanding of their underlying fears helped to dissolve their trepidation, enabling her students to feel comfortable and safe in the water.
The confidence gained by learning to swim opened up an entirely new world of adventure and possibility for her students. Simultaneously, the experience of empowering people to overcome their fears made a lasting impression on Susan and ultimately shaped the direction of her life.
While a student at Stanford, she became intrigued with hypnosis as a healing modality and as a vehicle for personal empowerment. She obtained certification as a clinical hypnotherapist in 1992, and cultivated a heightened awareness of the etheric essence of the human body in relation to overall health and vitality.
Early in her professional life Susan enjoyed a career in sales and marketing with an electronics firm in Silicon Valley. In the evenings she pursued formal training in psychic development at the Berkeley Psychic Institute and at Psychic Horizons in San Francisco, CA.
Susan has applied formal manifestation techniques to successfully actualize her personal goals for many years. In 1995 she developed a workshop format engaging the magnetic qualities of the lunar cycles to enhance the creative process. She designed workshops to establish a regular practice of setting goals and envisioning success. The monthly rituals grew in popularity, enlisting clients from around the globe to share their collective intentions to achieve their goals.
While taking different forms, all of Susan’s healing practices stem from the same innate ability. She intuitively matches the energy of people, animals, and situations, and intentionally shifts the frequency to an elevated level. She is an inherently positive person who seamlessly blends wisdom, humor, and compassion to support her clients on their life journeys.
Susan thoroughly enjoys her own life, striking a healthy balance between heartfelt passions and professional responsibilities. She travels regularly to spend time in the water with cetaceans, and accompanies her parter Tom on diving and wildlife expeditions to exclusive global destinations.
For the past decade, Susan has worked as a citizen scientist to collect data and dynamic imagery on resident sperm whales who inhabit the Eastern Caribbean Sea. She has recorded the identities of family units in the region and has amassed extensive documentation depicting their natural behaviors. She assembled this material into a comprehensive, visually rich educational website featuring the fascinating culture and lives of these remarkable whales.
Prior to creating the Sperm Whales Dominica website, Susan served as a science diver on the Hoyo Negro Project where she conducted mapping, archeological, and documentation endeavors in an under water cave in Mexico. From 2007 – 2014 she was responsible for handling the sacred remains of the oldest human found on the North American continent. The team was funded in part by National Geographic.
Susan continues to volunteer her time and water skills to document and protect the sperm whale population in Dominica, and to advocate for all marine mammals inhabiting the underwater world.
